In this step we’d like you to upload some of your own spoken English. Go to Record yourself for IELTS Speaking. You’ll need to have a microphone on your computer and allow Vocaroo to use it. When you are ready, press Record. Record a short sample of your speaking. Please don’t record for more than a minute. When you have finished your recording, you will get a link. If you want to, you can share the link in the comments box below and let other users listen to your speaking. You can listen to other learners’ recordings and write feedback for them in the comments.
Please note: If you are using an Android or Windows smartphone, you need to first record yourself using your phone, then upload the file to Vocaroo. Watch this short video guide on how to do it. Here is the link to the Vocaroo upload page.
Unfortunately, if you are using an Apple device it is a little more complicated, so if you want to make a recording it’s best to use a desktop computer with a microphone or a laptop with a built-in microphone.

Some things to remember in this step:
- This step is optional. Not everyone wants to share their link.
- Don’t share any personal or contact details in your recording.
- If you are commenting on another learner’s speaking, be encouraging and helpful.
- Vocaroo recordings don’t last forever. They will be removed by Vocaroo after a few months.
