Structured dialogue as a process is much bigger than just a sub-action within Key Action 3 of Erasmus+ Youth in Action. Read about structured dialogue and watch the video to learn more!
The EU Structured Dialogue (SD) on youth is a formal participatory process in all EU countries between young people and decision-makers in order to implement the priorities of European youth policy cooperation and to make young people’s voices heard in the European policy-shaping process.

The Structured Dialogue is organised in cycles of 18 months by 3 consecutive EU presidency countries. Each cycle focuses on a specific thematic priority. In 2016 and until the end of June 2017, the cycle is being organised by the Dutch, Slovak and Maltese presidencies. The thematic priority is: enabling all young people to engage in a diverse, connected and inclusive Europe.
The participatory process in each country is coordinated by national working groups, that are led by the national youth council in most countries. The success of the Structured Dialogue depends on the direct involvement of youth organisations, young people and decision-makers at local and regional level. This is how Key Action 3 Structured Dialogue projects can help make a difference.
A Key Action 3 Structured Dialogue project can feed into the national consultation process and contribute to the outcomes at the European level. By getting in touch with the national working group, organisers can find out how their project idea can contribute!
For example, in the Czech Republic, the Structured Dialogue is implemented at the national and European level, and young people and youth organisations have an opportunity to take part at different stages of the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2F-9lZgqCsI
