Dear all, everyone is looking for scholarship & one should be. Every day I receive the bundle of message & comments for scholarship guidance. I suggest these steps for scholarships.

1- Prepare a strong motivation letter/SOP & then evaluate from some experts for improvement (you may need to prepare different SOPs for different schools/countries/scholarships).

2- Good reference/recommendation letter ( should be prepared from good profs for high ranked universities)

3- Shortlist countries you want to go and then shortlist universities according to your major

4- Probe any kind of scholarship offered ( It may be University Scholarship, Erasmus-Europe countries, daad-Germany (Open for some courses currently), Singa Singapore (open for 2018 round 1 currently), CGS-China, Turkiye busları-Turkey, Fullbright-USA, Endeavors-Australia (Open currently) or IPRS schemes, Italy-33 cycle scholarship round is open nowadays in many universities, etc)

5- Do Toefl/IELTS

6-if you can do GRE, it will increase your chances for max. scholarships, but you can skip it for other countries except for the USA

7. Publications but not necessary ( It may be a regular paper, review paper, letter in SJR Journal or good conference paper. Keep in mind, different scholarships have different conditions & criteria you must be smart & target according to their requirements

8. Good research proposal ( if possible it will increase your chances for many scholarships such as departmental/professor scholarships, etc)

9. Do not lose hope, try again & again.

2.Prioritise to find the right scholarship you should prioritize the nature of scholarship……local or international

You should also prioritize which area of world or country you are going to apply.

Like Europe, USA, Canada, Australia etc

3.Start early

You should prepare the all required documents even before applying for the scholarship.

4.Work with other scholarship seekers

Discuss with a person who is already involved in this process.

5.Focus on organization or sponsor’s goals

Look at what the organization actually does, their mission statement or values page, and understand what seems important to them and how they talk about themselves. Then identify those keywords and values, and make sure you work those into your application.

Who are they really looking for? Look at past winners or the detailed FAQ that’s probably on their website.

6.Follow instructions

Read carefully the requirements to apply for the scholarship position. Don’t miss a single document or requirement for application.

7.Stand out

You need to impress the sponsor out of crowd so you should show

10.Submit early

Even if there’s no preference indicated for early applicants, remember that all applications are being reviewed by humans — humans who most likely have other jobs and responsibilities besides selecting scholarship winners. Once the deadline is reached, those evaluators will be inundated with applications and may start skimming through applications.

You have the best shot of winning when someone reads your story, relates to it, and finds it an appealing fit for their organization’s money. If your application is in a stack of ten because you applied early, it is perhaps more likely to get a thorough read-through.
